PRAJA RAJYAM PARTY
Praja Rajyam (Telugu :ఫ్రజా రాజ్యం translation: People's Rule) is a regional political party in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India, founded by Telugu cinema actor Chiranjeevi on August 26, 2008.
History
Chiranjeevi's foray into politics was highly anticipated in the media and political circles since 2007.While it was reported that he was seeking opinion of people during the latter half of 2007, the media also suggested that he would announce the decision in January 2008. Amongst media speculations, he would launch his political party as an alternative to the ruling Indian National Congress and Telugu Desam Party in his native state of Andhra Pradesh.
Present
The first public meeting was held by Chiranjeevi on August 26, 2008, at 120-acre Avilala Tank near Tirupati. In this meeting Chiranjeevi addressed a gathering of about a million people. The party name and its agenda were announced for the first time in this meeting. The party flag, which has white colour to 3/4 of its height at the top, and the bottom 1/4 is filled with green colour, was unveiled at this meeting. In middle of the flag a red coloured Sun symbol is embossed which is encircled with a yellow line. There are 24 red coloured beams beyond and around the yellow ring.
The Green color is an "acknowledgement to the farmers", Red color symbolizes "change and revolution", Yellow border around the run symbolizes "happiness in every home", White color symbolizes "clean governance and transparency"; the Sun in the middle emphasizes the need for change and revolution.
On the same day as the party name announced, Chiranjeevi's representatives submitted application to the Election Commission of India for the party registration.

Mr.Krishnam Raju joined the party he was earlier a member of Loksabha and served as Minister for state,He resigned to BJP and joined PRP on 24-MAR-2009 and will be contesting the 2009 Loksabha elections from Visakhapatnam constituency.
Mergers
Recently, Nava Telangana Party(NTP) was merged in to Prajarajyam Party. The merged party was headed by a former minister and former TDP politician Devender Goud. NTP is a political entity flouted for the cause of Telangana State formation. The party has a strong base in tle Telangana Region of Andhra Pradesh. The merger added more strength and morale to the Prajarajyam Party which may result in a stronger triangular fight between the major political entities of Andhra Pradesh State. Post-merger, Mr. Goud was made the Vice-President of Prajarajyam Party.
